Hay Export/Delivery

Delivery is Always Guaranteed

We are a company specialized in the trade and export of the best fodder available on the market – natural meadow hay, Crau hay, timothy hay, alfalfa hay, straw. We deliver nationally, in the united states and internationally in the United kingdom and United Arabs Emirates.

A 26T load-weight truck transports 26T of compressed bale hay, compared to 15T previously. And a container can carry 25 T of compact bale fodder.

Loading and unloading by conventional forklifts takes a few minutes. This represents:

Great time saving.

A transport cost approximately halved due to the doubling of the density on the one hand, and the use of standard semi-trailers on the other hand. Optimized maritime export by container.

An induced decrease in oil consumption and transport pollution halved for the same reasons.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

To meet consumers’ expectations in terms of food quality and safety and out of respect for the professions of farmers, we do not hesitate to develop our activity as a stakeholder in the environment:
By investing in the development of dynamic agriculture, by cultivating high-quality hay which contributes to the development and enhancement of territories, with Longchamp® Hay or by participating in the maintenance of Crau Hay cultivation, enhancing it with packaging that facilitates export. Grassland cultivation acting as a true compensatory measure for the impact on the environment by providing ecosystem goods and services:

Our Methods

  1. Improves soil structure and organic matter content

  2. Provides pest control

  3. Prevents runoff, compaction and soil erosion

  4. Maintains or improves the conservation of natural habitats and species: temporary prairies that remain for 4 years allow fauna to develop, but this development is significantly reduced in the case of annual crops.

  5. Plays a protective role for water resources: an irrigated meadow redistributes 80% of water to the water table and acts as a filter.

  6. Fights visual pollution and disfigured landscapes by reproducing a healthy and beautiful environment

  7. Acts as a compensation measure for environmental impact

  8. Eliminates the need for the use of fertilizers on other products and facilitates access to organic certification standards, leaving the land clean and revitalized.

  9. Carbon wells: a project of 4,000 hectares of prairie planted for 4 years captures 260,000 tons of carbon dioxide, and reduces annual CO2 emissions by 540 tons in finished product transport in the case of a rational and sustainable commercialization.

WHO ARE OUR SUPPLIERS?

A Community Farmers Market

We give preference to domestic suppliers. Our selection of traditional forage plants come from growers and crops that respect sustainable development practices.

We look for growers that think along the same lines as we do, because hay is not just a commodity; it embodies all the values we share with the people who make it: a job well done, daily work, a passion for the land… Our business of promoting forage is done with a great respect for those who grow and harvest the crop, and also for those who will enjoy it…

Perfectly standard sizes, the compressed bales are wrapped to protect this “food resource” from humidity and ambient dust.

These dense bales, perfectly sized in length, width and thickness, with a perfectly constant weight, can be handled simply without “falling apart”, no loss of debris.

Storage, handling, transport, density: by being compatible with the actual standards and practices, the logistics of supplying hay delivered to the customer is simplified.

The CHC compressed bale for export, a production process that begins at harvest.

The hay is traditionally harvested in standard format bales of high density 90x120x240 of 550 kg by specialized companies, with adaptation of hydrometric probes and infoview computers on the balers. A contribution of biological preservative is applied if necessary. All under control and compliance with specifications.

This hay is then transported to large warehouses where it is stored isolated from the ground by pallets. It finishes its fermentation there for 40 to 60 days.

During this ripening period, it undergoes a batch control of its quality and especially of the humidity level. This information is kept to ensure traceability.

After this step, the stabilized hay has an average of 14% moisture. It is then transported on the supply chain to undergo a first cutting during which an operator checks the heart of each bale and reforming it if necessary.

Then the hay is conveyed into a controlled compression chamber, reducing it by half to 50 cm. During this compression, up to 500 tonnes per cm², the slices are tied. Then the bales come out to be led into a cutting box, on two or three blades depending on the final choice of format, to come out at 40 or 30 cm. This compression phase, by expelling the air as much as possible, decreases the oxidation of the hay and therefore the loss of nutrients. Its flavors will be preserved 3 times longer.
